We know that gaining too much weight during pregnancy can put a woman at risk for gestational diabetes, but a new study listed at WebMD says that gaining in the first trimester is especially bad. Furthermore, additional weight in the first trimester seemed to increase the risk of getting gestational diabetes by about 50%.
